If you stopped trying do you think they will try?

    I thought it was strange when someone I know said that they weren't going to call a friend of theirs for a while to see if they would call them.

   That just didn't make any sense to me at all at the time.

   About a month later I asked them if they had heard from them lately. 

   I was surprised that they said no.

   I asked them if they had tried to call them and they said no I am waiting to see if they think about me and call me to catch up.

  Again I asked them three months later and they had still not heard from them.

  This time I could hear the hurt that they felt thinking that apparently they didn't really care about them.

  Although they had not called them they lost out on the friendship that they had for decades that they had enjoyed.

  I understand that he proved that there are friends that don't and won't reach out to you.

  But the truth is that they truly enjoyed the relationship they had with them but lost it just to prove their point.

  Being right and proving it is not always the right thing to do.

   Enjoy them for the friend they had been for decades not stop enjoying your friendship with them because they are the same person that they had been for decades.
