A closet full of gifts
It's time for the holidays and the recession is still here. Don't charge anything just for the sake of giving. More people are financially hurting than there are that are not, so spend your money on a dinner that will warm their hearts and their bellies. Bake extra pies and send them home as a gift. They won't shove that in the closet with last years presents that your still making payments on.

Go around them
In your path through life you will run across boulders in the road and craters that seem to come out of nowhere. Just go around them instead of wasting time and energy trying to figure out where they came from. You must accept that "it is what it is" and "Just Flush It" and move on. The right path in life doesn't mean it's straight. If life throws you a curve or drops a boulder along the way just go around them.

The damage is done
When you always anticipate the worst you put your body through turmoil unnecessarily and the physical and emotional damage is done regardless of the outcome. You won't have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders if you just wait to see what load you have to bare. The climb up the mountain of life is hard enough without carrying sand bags you don't need.

Start with what you got
What can you do when there is nothing you can do? Hang on and see what is going to happen. Your reaction to the situation can make things worse. When the worst that can happen is done then evaluate what you can do and what actions need to be taken. You will be able to figure it out when you know where and what your starting with when it is done.

It's not always gas
When it doesn't feel right in the pit of your stomach, it's not always gas. Pay attention to your inner reactions when you are getting ready to make a decision. Following your "gut instinct" is the right choice 99% of the time. The remaining 1% is just gas that will pass. It's a reminder deep down to tell you what your brain already knows but your not listening.

A picture is worth a thousand words
To help someone understand give them an analogy that they can picture. A picture is worth a thousand words. To explain with words why your friend shouldn't open a business in a particular area could end a friendship. But pointing out that stores have come and closed all around that area might save them from signing a lease for five years that they couldn't get out of. That may be a "point of view" that will help them see the big picture.

Will you see it?
Conversations with a friend or stranger can answer questions that you didn't ask. Ideas can flow out that shed a whole new "point of view" on even your most complex problems. Looking at the same issue in a different way will allow you to see things differently. Sometimes we can only see what we are looking for without seeing what is really there. The answer is there but whether you see it depends on how you look at it.

A worn path to nowhere
Choosing your path in life based on the path used most often is foolish. It's path may simply look so worn because those before you found it lead to nowhere and had to travel back again to choose a different path. Before you choose a path find out just where it will lead you. If you plan on reaching your goal you must first make a plan of how you can get there. You must plan ahead to get ahead.

Figure it out before you start
The answer is more complex then just knowing the answer you want or need. The question may be simple but you may be simply asking the wrong question. You may be able to see where you want to go but the path to get there may not be so obvious. Take the time to think things through and figure out what will or won't work before you start and you won't be trying to figure out what went wrong after your done.

Don't work twice as hard
If you take the time and effort to do things right the first time you won't waste time and energy fixing your mistakes. Doing things twice only makes you work twice as hard. A shortcut will only help you if it leads you where you need to go. Doing things only halfway will only get you halfway done. Putting things off till tomorrow is a waste of your today's. Enjoy life while you are living and your tomorrows will be free for you to enjoy.

Find a reason to smile
If you can't figure out what you need to be happy then you will never be happy. No one else knows because being happy is a state of mind. Not what is on someone Else's mind but what's on your mind. If you are always angry about something then anger is your state of mind. If you can find a reason to smile today then today you will be smiling. If a doughnut is full of jelly it wont taste like chocolate.

No fly zone
How can you protect yourself from a stray bullet? You are not safe in your house, it barrels through aimlessly. Even in a car you won't get far as the speeding bullet heads your way. It shatters lives as it breaks glass and terrorizes neighborhoods. A society without empathy creates the environment that these shooters come from. Teach the habit of humanity and we can all live in an environment where there will be a "No Fly Zone" and bullets won't be flying by in a drive by.

A change will do you good
If you know what you are doing will be a problem later then stop doing it now. Do you need to wait till it happens to confirm what you already know? If you see you are on a road that leads you nowhere then turn around. If you can see what's coming then you know what's coming so get out of the way. If you know it's time for a change then does it really matter what time it is?
