Your life is literally in their hands
If you have to seek medical attention you know you are literally putting your life in their hands. And if you or someone you love has to face a medical emergency you can only hope the medical professionals you see will do everything to treat them. Unfortunately it is easy to be seen merely as patient number 99 and slip through the cracks. You have to be your own advocate and fight for the right treatment. Your test results may make it to your file but that doesn't mean that the doctor will ever see those results to know what you medically need to stay alive let alone healthy. You have to get the results and bring it to your doctor's attention. Your doctor can be a great doctor but they are too busy to keep up with every patient. I love my doctors but there is a particular nurse at the office that just at the sight of them raises my blood pressure to a dangerous level. They might have passed all the written test to get their degree but no one bothered to test them on compassion for other human beings before they gave them that degree. There honestly should be a necessity to have compassion or you can't be in the medical field because patients litteraly put their lives in their hands. How you are treated personally is just as important to your health as having a good doctor. Be kind to everyone you meet for you have no idea what they may be facing.
