You don't give till it hurts

If you keep bailing other people out while you financially get sunk yourself you will only sink and they will still sink after you no longer are able to bail them out. Make sure you are stable and anchored and only give what you can without sacrificing what you need for yourself. If you have to give up what you need to give to another then it should be a no brainier. You don't give till it hurts you give what you can without hurting yourself. Take care of you first then if you can and only if you can you will be able to help them if you want to.
