You can FEEL the THUNDER SHAKE the GROUND

     As we were watching the TV together out of nowhere came a RUMBLE that was impossible to ignore.

    We knew they were PREDICTING RAIN but we were caught off guard when the RUMBLE FROM THE THUNDER SHOOK the couch we were sitting on.

    It was not RAINING yet but you knew the RAIN WAS ON IT'S WAY because we could FEEL THE RUMBLE.

    When we LOOKED OUTSIDE we could SEE THE DARKNESS in THE SKY HEADING OUR WAY.

    We decided to SIT ON THE PORCH to WATCH THE CLOUDS as they ROLLED IN.

     The dogs came outside to LAY DOWN on the PORCH with us. 

     All of a sudden in the middle of a sentence WE WERE SILENCED by a LIGHTNING STRIKE that LANDED EXTREMELY CLOSE to the PORCH.

      WE KNEW a STORM WAS COMING. We KNEW YET it STARTLED US sending OUR HEARTS POUNDING.

      Obviously we ALL RACED TO THE DOOR to get INSIDE to BE SAFE FROM being STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.

       THE DOGS were the FIRST ONES IN they SURE didn't think about PROTECTING US.

     All they Thought about was PROTECTING THEMSELVES from the LIGHTNING.

     The LOOK THEY GAVE ME when we got INSIDE was a LOOK OF FRUSTRATION that WE WOULD EVEN HAVE TOOK THEM OUTSIDE in the MIDDLE OF A STORM.

      As the THUNDER AND LIGHTNING ROARED OUTSIDE we could FEEL IT SHAKING THE EARTH.

     ALTHOUGH it only lasted for about a HALF HOUR FOR THE ENTIRE THIRTY MINUTES IT FELT LIKE A WAR WAS RAGING ALL AROUND US.

     LATER when the RAIN HAD PASSED we went back out on the PORCH but our DOGS decided that WE COULD GO OUTSIDE BY OURSELVES this time and they would just STAY INSIDE.

    We could HEAR THE BIRDS out CHIRPING as they waited for the WORMS to COME UP to the surface as the RAIN HAD JUST FLOODED THEIR HOLES UNDERGROUND.

    WE could HEAR THE FROGS CROAKING as they CAME OUT OF HIDING to PLAY IN THE WATER PUDDLES.

     As the cars drove down the road you could HEAR THE SPLASHING as THEIR TIRES ROLLED through the WET ROADWAYS.

   As the RAINWATER SPLASHED DOWN off the ROOFTOP you could HEAR THE PATTERN OF SOUND OF THE WATER AS IT WAS DRIPPING DOWN.

     A THUNDERSTORM REMINDS US that MOTHER NATURE IS UNDENIABLY A POWERHOUSE.

   AND SHE OCCASIONALLY SHOWS US THAT IN JUST THE BLINK OF AN EYE HER POWER can SHAKE THE EARTH.
