A phone call away

A memory can keep them closer to you. As your children grow up, they may move to another state. Your friends may have to relocate to get a job. The distance between you may make it difficult to get together. Luckily your memories can warm your heart and allow you to feel closer to them. You can pick up the phone and feel as though they are sitting right beside you. Hearing their voice is the key to feeling them. Sending a text can keep you updated on things, but you can't feel a connection. But hearing their voice makes a human connection that you can feel. With all the new technology and gadgets, even being in the same room with them, it can prevent the chances of having any human connection with anyone. Without staying connected to your human side you can become desensitized to the point where you lose compassion for others. I was thankful that on Thanksgiving everyone stayed off their electronic gadgets and enjoyed each other's company. It felt like the good old days before cell phones. Do you remember when you had a two foot cord on your phone? Could you imagine if cell phones didn't exist? I was reluctant to get one but now I couldn't imagine not having one with me at all times. Technology is necessary nowadays but so is human contact. Spread some Humanity to replace the insanity we see in our society.
