You may have forgot a moment after you did it but they didn't!
Whoever said words can never hurt you, was wrong. The person you said something to may not forget the hurtful words you said or things you did to them. Some people can forget and some things you can FLUSH away but some things you never forget. When a sight or smell brings up a memory it triggers the same hurt feelings as if it was happening now, even though years and even decades may have past. It triggers PTSD. Negative hurtful events from your past can pop up out of no where. Although there is no permanent way to keep them from popping up again and again, you can FLUSH them at a quick glance before they have time to do any damage emotionally again and again. You may not be able to completely forget but you can quickly protect yourself from it. Everyone needs to remember that a mean thought may pop up in your mind quickly but it shouldn't fly out of your mouth so quickly, because your first thought to a negative situation is very negative. Think about it before you say it out loud.
