It doesn't make it right

You do not have to agree nor even like what others do but you have to live with the consequences for the things you choose to do whether you like it or not. Try telling the authorities that others were doing it and they felt it was OK so you are not responsible for the problems it caused while you were doing it and see if they agree. Just because others are doing it doesn't make it right. Do the right thing no matter what others may do and you will enjoy the reward not pay the consequences for doing what you know is wrong.
