Boiling water

Have you ever noticed that the closer you get to what you need the harder it is to wait? It's like needing to go to the bathroom as you get stuck in traffic on your way home. You do just fine until you step foot out of your car door to head to your front door. Then suddenly you feel like you can't hold it any longer. To make waiting easier you got to distract yourself. Because if it's all you focus on it will make waiting harder. I know you have heard the old phrase "A watched pot never boils".
