It can take half a century

It is a shame that you don't recognize what is really important in Life till you are nearly a half century old. It would be a little better if you were guaranteed to live another half a century to enjoy what is really important. But not even tomorrow is guaranteed. But.... You can enjoy every moment of every day you do have enjoying what is really important. The younger you learn it the more time you will get to enjoy it.
