Old habits are hard to break

After you get in the habit of doing it, it is hard to break the habit. Now the habit of brushing your teeth and flossing before bed is a good habit. There are many habits that you have that are good for you. But then there are those habits that you sure wish you didn't have. And even though you know they are bad for you it is not that easy to break the habit. I am struggling with a few habits that I know I am smart enough to know they are bad habits yet I am still doing them. How is that even possible to ignore the facts and continue to do them. Now that I am fighting pneumonia I am utterly shocked that I hadn't quit smoking by now. Although the pneumonia has now made me quit I still ask myself why I had not stopped decades ago. I knew decades ago that they were bad for my health yet I continued to smoke. Sometimes it takes a wake up call to tell you what you already know. Don't ignore the facts just because ignoring them had become a habit. A change of habit may be just what you need.
