If you see trouble coming why don't you get out of the way?

Every time I hear someone say I knew that would happen, I wander why didn't they get out of the way when they saw trouble coming. It is even more mystifying when they allow it to happen to them two or three times. As they are telling me about it they have to know how insane it is that they let it happen again. Seriously the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again the same way and expecting a different result. Now I understand the old saying "If it happens once shame on them. If it happens twice then shame on you."
