Let them enjoy it!

Your "point of view" from things in your childhood sure is different from how you view them as you get older and experience them. A child is born with a special ability to accept, adapt and enjoy Life with a limited view of their circumstances. Unfortunately the older you get with the wisdom of years of living your"point of view" includes some scary facts that you have to consider. Since you know what a happy carefree view that a child is meant to have then make sure you let them enjoy it and try to enjoy it with them because we are all a kid at heart.
