Pass it on

After making Thanksgiving Dinner for decades, I have learned a few tricks to make it easier. I would like to pass the tricks on to anyone reading this, in case you don't already know. Our family likes to have both mashed potatoes and potatoe salad. And to feed a lot of people that calls for a lot of potatoes. There are so many things that need to be prepared that it can be overwhelming. Anything you can prepare the day before will make it easier. I learned you can peel and cut all your potatoes the day before. Then keep them in the refrigerator in gallon sized baggies covered with water. You can also make your deviled eggs and almost all your deserts the day before. Splitting the work you need to do into two days will make a big difference. It takes a lot of work to prepare a Thanksgiving Feast. But what is the sense of making it if you overwork yourself to the point where you can't even enjoy it because you are exhausted. Making lots of food isn't the only important thing about Thanksgiving. It is also just as important that you make the time to gather together. As you go throughout your life you learn as you go and hopefully you will pass on what you have learned.
