Precious memories are moments we live together

My grandson wanted a leopard gecko and even though I knew he was probably too young he convinced his grandpa to give me the money to get him one. So off we went to the pet stores looking for a baby one. We already had a tank and the accessories so at least it wouldn't cost us much. He had done a pretty good job with it these past two months and we were surprised. Last week they got their fresh Christmas tree and spent hours decorating it. By the time that it took them to put the empty boxes for decorations back into the attic my grandson had taken the gecko out of his cage and put it on the tree because he thought his gecko would like it. Well in the frantic search to find him to put it back in the tank the Christmas tree got knocked over. But they couldn't yell at him because he was crying over loosing his gecko. Here it was three days later and he knocked the tree down again looking for him but again they couldn't yell at him because he was crying about loosing his gecko. They thought about buying him a new one to pretend they found him to keep him out of the Christmas tree but he remembers every stripe on his gecko buddy's body so he would know it wasn't him. I find myself giggling deep inside as I watch my grown son as a Father go through one of those crazy memories that he and his children will have forever. Children sure say and do the funniest things.
