Tune it out with music

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday. Today it is time to put up the Christmas tree. I don't know about you but that turkey sure is still weighing me down zapping all my energy. It's hard to know if it is the turkey meat or the amount of food I ate. To help motivate myself I break out the Christmas Music. As Elvis sings to start off the Holidays it melts away all that turkey. Sometimes if you want to change how you are feeling you got to put on some music that makes you feel good.

A day to enjoy the calories

What a busy few days but it is the eve of Thanksgiving. Now it's time to get some much needed rest before the busy cooking day starting early to get all the food ready because the family will arrive mighty hungry as they have been envisioning the table full of all of their favorite foods. One thing is for sure there is no dieting on Thanksgiving so go ahead and enjoy the time with family and friends and a few extra calories. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Crystal Clear Replay

Every now and again time stands still and a crustal clear replay of an event in your mind will make you giggle. I have often wandered how it just pops in your mind and consumes your attention and you become oblivious to your surroundings then ZAP your back in real time. They are usually random clips of days gone by that have nothing in common with what you were doing at the time. As you shrug your shoulders and smile you carry on with what you were doing and that clip of a memory flees your mind as quickly as it came.

Peacefully waiting

As I was waiting at the doctors for them to call my name I could hear the conversations going on around me. Although most of the talk was just small talk about things like the weather there was one little boy asking his mother if his Dad was going to be ok. It was apparent through his questions that his Dad was there to get results to see if his cancer had spread. As I fought back the tears my frustration from waiting went away and were replaced with gladness that I was only waiting for a well check up. Waiting for the doctor for that family was without a doubt frustrating and I can only hope they will be full of gladness after their wait is over.

If you can't afford it then don't buy it

As Christmas approaches remember if you barely have money to get by now you don't have money to splurge. Everyone we know needs money so for your gift to each other is to not spend money you don't have buying gifts no one needs. We all have unopened gifts that we don't use in our closets already. If you want to buy something then pay on their electric bill and wrap the receipt. Buy them gift cards to local grocery stores so they can buy groceries to fill their bellies or gas cards so they can fill up their gas tank. If you can't afford it then you just don't buy it. Spending time with your family at Christmas is the only gift your family wants and needs.

It's more than food

It's almost Thanksgiving already this year has flown by. As my granddaughter who is three was over I began talking to her about all that I had to do to get ready. She listened quietly as I talked about all the special food I was planning on making. Then I asked her if she was excited that it was almost time to gather for Thanksgiving. Her response "I don't like Thanksgiving all we do is eat." As I looked at her thinking about her response she says "I eat everyday." I smiled as I realized that she was right everyday we should be thankful for our food. Then I explained that it was a special dinner because everyone would come over to visit then she said "OK I will come over for Thanksgiving." Thanksgiving is more than just eating it's a time that we are all thankful that we can enjoy each other and while we are there we eat.

When there is no accountability

Even when you do your best there are times when other peoples bad behavior brings you down worse than you could have imagined possible. We need to hold them accountable for their bad behavior and not let them bring good people down. We need to stand strong and united to set standards that we will tolerate and demand justice for all. When there is no accountability for bad behavior then it will be looked at as acceptable behavior and eventually it will happen to you or someone you know and then we will all just have to accept it and expect it.

It's a Roller Coaster

When you reach the half a century age you realize that "Life" just happens despite all the plans you had. When negative things happen on your Life's Journey you got to "Just Flush It" and regroup so you can enjoy Life while you are living it. Things happen in Life that's just Life. How you "react" to it and "look" at it will determine how devastating the outcome will be. There is no rhyme or reason to the struggles you will face on the Roller Coaster called Life. There is going to be ups and downs and dangerous curves in your Life's Journey. That's just Life. If you want to enjoy Life while you are living it you will have to Flush Away A Bad Day at times to enjoy it. That's just Life.

What you plant we all harvest

All over the World there are people who want nothing more than to be treated Humanely. Just doesn't seem hard at all yet it simply doesn't seem to be happening. If we would treat others how we would want to be treated then we would all be treated fairly. Plant seeds of Humanity to replace the insanity we live in. When the bad people outnumber the good ones we will all have nothing but bad days ahead of us. What kind of seeds will you plant as you go through this day?

I wish Allstate could make sure you are in "good hands" in a Hospital

When you need medical help you are putting your Life in the hands of Doctors and Nurses. Recent surgery requiring a hospital stay made that very clear. Every shift change and every person working each shift was a challenge. You may have had the best surgeon and a successful surgery but your outcome is based on whether you got proper care following surgery. Every 12 hours with shift change it was like rolling the dice hoping you are treated with medical thoroughness and compassion. It only takes a few minutes into shift change to know if you will have "peace of mind" for the next 12 hours or not. Sure wish Allstate could insure that you were always in "good hands" when you need it in a hospital.

Make your home a warm inviting atmosphere and you will have a chance to make happy memories as you sit together keeping warm. Time to warm their bellies too with a home cooked meal you all can enjoy together. The winter comes to keep families bonded as they gather indoors to stay warm.

What is your Family Favorite?

Now that Halloween has passed it's time to plan your Thanksgiving Dinner. I have decided to have a Turkey Breast so my Uncle sent me a Blow Up Turkey so we visually still have that Traditional Turkey look. It's a time to make those passed down recipes that everyone looks forward to. After your children grow up and move away they really look forward to a big home cooked meal with all their favorite foods. They also look forward to me making extra of my Broccoli Casserole so they can take some home to enjoy. What Family Dish do you make special to share?
